Pregabalin is a new calcium channel regulator (non-gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptor agonist or antagonist), which can block voltage-dependent calcium channel and reduce the release of neurotransmitters. Pregabalin is mainly used in the treatment of peripheral neuralgia and adjuvant treatment of localized partial epileptic seizures.

Usage of Pregabalin:
Pregabalin is a gamma-aminobutyric acid analogue. Its structure and function are similar to gabapentin. It has anti-epileptic, analgesic and anti-anxiety activities. The anti-epileptic mechanism of pregabalin is still unclear. In laboratory studies, pregabalin showed anticonvulsant activity in various epileptic models. The activity spectrum of animal models was similar to that of gabapentin, but the activity of pregabalin was 3-10 times that of gabapentin.

Indications of Pregabalin:
1. Neuralgia in diabetic peripheral neuropathy and neuralgia after herpes;
2. Auxiliary treatment of partial seizures of epilepsy;
3. It can also be used for anxiety disorder, social phobia and arthritis.
